Lines Of Desire

Lines of desire

The sky above you discloses
a handful of stars and shadows.
As you draw the lines of a new day
screams gather in your throat.
Unuttered.
Yet desire is fear’s thaw
so you walk over the threshold
and draw lines of desire,
a new path where you paint
a sunshine of hope for freedom,
a rainbow of all colors
for those who suffer and
for those who deserve a better life.

  1. Beautiful! You always seem to have a way with words and I love how eloquently you write. You’re a natural poet, Marta. Love your writing. Also, I love how you described desire. It’s raw emotion and it’s absolutely ravishing 💓

    1. Thank you, Ivor, so glad you liked my poem. I am from Catalonia (live next to Barcelona). My blog is humble writing and I never imagined it would be that successful. Cheers.

  3. I wanted to comment the other day, but I thought I’d comment today. For me, this is a poem of hope despite all the trials we’re put through. Also, I was wondering if you’d be interested in writing for a literary collective. Please contact me if you are. If not I understand. Thank you. – Nitin

  4. Oh I love this. Desire is fear’s thaw. It’s a strong line that can be repeatedly spoken, as motivation. Drawing new lines. Just had a lovely image of u doing so. 😀
