Green Nailpolish – A Poem by Preksha

Here I see
A green nail polish
Nail polish of green colour
It changes its hue
At you and me
Paint us Yellow and Violet
And I hear it sing
And it sings to me
The song of white roses and red colour
And all the things I cannot see
I smell their vintage aroma
And arrange them in glass cases
But now the green nail polish
Colour me brown
Brown and black and pink
And this sight gives birth to
A new different colour
And all the things I cannot see
I inhale again
And wish this green nail polish
Will paint the colour of rain.
I smell wet mud
And blue curtains
And freshly baked doughnuts
And I breathe the dust in
And my lips drain colour
Because I have lost every shade of me
To this green nail polish.
